With Godzilla’s Gareth Edwards at the helm, Jurassic World Rebirth has the chance to be the best movie in the franchise since Steven Spielberg’s original Jurassic Park. Universal is hoping to get the Jurassic Park series back on track after the bitter disappointment of Jurassic World Dominion. Jurassic World Rebirth has the original movie’s writer David Koepp penning the script, a cast of exciting newcomers including Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali, and a fast-approaching release date of July 2, 2025.
Set five years after Jurassic World Dominion, Jurassic World Rebirth’s plot will revolve around a team of scientists trying to extract a life-saving drug from three of the world’s most formidable dinosaurs. After the increasingly underwhelming Jurassic World trilogy, Rebirth will need to earn back the goodwill of the fan base. And based on Edwards’ previous work (particularly his first big-budget blockbuster), it seems as though the future of the Jurassic Park franchise is in safe hands — and may just deliver the best entry since the Spielberg original.
